Technos had one last brawler to unveil, though, to defend its place at the head of the pack - The Combatribes. By the time the 16-bit era rolled around in the early '90s, though, other studios had started to step up and challenge Technos' throne - Capcom gave gamers a great new beat-'em-up franchise in Final Fight, and SEGA showed up with Streets of Rage.
The company made its mark on the industry in the '80s by basically inventing beat-'em-ups with Renegade, then went on to solidify its first place position in the genre by crafting the legendary Double Dragon series and cult classic River City Ransom.
